It is with deep sadness we announce the
unexpected passing of Valerie Ann St.
Peter, age 83, of Springhill. Valerie passed away at
the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre on Sunday, December 4,
2022.
Born in Springhill, NS, she was a
daughter of the late Wesley and Marion (Keiver)
MacLeod.
Valerie spent 61 years married to the
love of her life. Throughout their years, Archie and Valerie enjoyed
dedicating their time to many volunteer organizations including Rotary
Club, hospital auxiliary, Clowns Canada, St. Andrews Wesley United
Church as well as teaching ballroom dancing, square dancing and round
dancing. Valerie also belonged to the red hats society, IODE and
UCW.
Val graduated from Highland View nursing
school in the final graduating class of 1960. She went on to work for
35 years as a dedicated nurse working in the maternity ward. By far
Val and Archies greatest accomplishment was raising their four
beautiful children.
Valerie was a very creative person, she
enjoyed painting, baking, knitting, and crafting in general. more than
anything, Val enjoyed spending summers at her cottage with her family
at Pugwash point.
Valerie will be dearly missed by her
husband of 61 years, Archie; sons Chris (Ruth) and Leigh
(Kim);daughter Lynn (Mark) McMillian; granddaughters Nikki (Mackenzie)
St. Peter, Sara (Angelique) St. Peter, Lauren and Jayme McMillian;
sister Mary (Bruce) Osborne; brother Bob (Linda) Macleod and many
nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased
by a son Brian and brother Ralph.
Arrangements are under the care and
direction of A H Brown Funeral Home, 5
McFarlane Street, Springhill, (902 597 2361), where visiting hours
will be held on Wednesday, December 7th, 2022 from 6 pm until 8 pm. A
funeral service will take place on Thursday, December 8th, 2022 at 2pm
at the St. Andrew’s Wesley United Church in Springhill with Ruth
Gamble, DLM officiating.
Donations in Valerie’s memory may be
made to the St. Andrew’s Wesley United Church.
