Shawanda –Trevor of Birch Island (June 1, 1982 – Sept. 26, 2022)began his journey back to the spirit world where he will be reunited with his grandparents Marguerite and Nicholas Shawanda , Raymond and Marina Pitawanakwat. Loving son of Debbie Shawanda and the late Mark of Birch Island. Will be greatly missed by his children Devon, Tennille and Laily. Dear uncle of Daniel Jr., Saffinired, Torrance and Zoey, Godfather and uncle of Mackenzie. Beloved brother of Daniel, Corey (baa), Cheryl and Chris (baa). Also, will be sadly missed by many aunts, uncles, family & friends. Trevor had a passion for the waters just like his late father Mark. Whether it was on the ice playing hockey or boating and fishing. He loved to cook on the BBQ and enjoyed playing poker, texas hold’ em, horseshoes and simply sitting around a fire. Years ago he once worked with Pioneer Construction as a flagger. He was also a cashier at the family business. Most recently he held the janitorial position in his home community of Birch Island. One of his favorite sayings whenever he entered a room was – “take it easy” (Skena menah) . Visitation will be at the Whitefish River Community Centre on October 1, 2022 starting at 2 PM. Funeral Service on October 3, 2022 in the Community Centre at 11AM with cremation to follow. Arrangements by BOURCIER FUNERAL HOME Ltd, Espanola.
