Tracy E. Blizzard
Tracy Eugene Blizzard died Aug. 15, 2022, at White Rapids Manor, Fredericton Junction NB following a lengthy illness. He was born in Tracy nearly 92 years ago — Sept. 21, 1930, to Alfred and Edith (Tracy) Blizzard.
Tracy is survived by sons Brent (Kathy) of Tracy and Kris (Mick) of Vancouver, granddaughter Mica (Nicholas) McTiernan of Hampton, sisters Marlene Fallu of Fredericton and Rose Nixon of Scotland, and sisters-in-law Elinor Blizzard of Fredericton and Marjorie Blizzard of Simi Valley, California. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his loving wife of 68 years, Betty (Harris), eldest son Clarke, brothers Alfred and Milo, brothers-in-law John Fallu and Glendon Harris, and sister-in-law Glenna Harris.
Tracy had a lifelong passion for travel and adventure. His keen curiosity about the world first led him to Banff, Alberta where at the age of 19 he worked at the Banff Springs Hotel. His wanderlust would eventually take him around the world travelling and living in many different countries. He was happiest when boarding a plane to a far-off destination; a thrill also shared by his children.
Tracy enjoyed working and the travel it provided. He started as a telegraph operator for CP Rail and then became a Train dispatcher and Train master for Quebec Cartier Mining. He lived in several places due to his work building railroads with Morrison Knudson and Bechtel. He lived in Quebec, Australia, Montana, Colombia and Suriname, South America.
Tracy was a lifelong member of the Tracy Baptist Church and spoke of his faith often. He was kind and generous with a sharp wit and love of laughter and fun times.
Many thanks to the caring staff at White Rapids Manor who provided a home to Tracy for the past six years. A graveside service will be held, led by Rev. James Harrison. For those who wish, donations may be made to White Rapids Manor.
