Obituary
Terry was born and raised in Kamloops. He was involved in skiing, diving, gymnastics and archery at an early age. He taught diving at the Kamloops Aquatic Club and competed at the well-known Kelowna Regatta, where he met a top professional diver and was offered a job with the largest trampoline and gymnastic company in the world. He and his wife Ursula then spent several years travelling all over the United States doing gymnastics shows in the schools.
Upon returning home they purchased a small resort at Mara Lake. Terry was approached by the Salmon Arm Recreation Dept. and was asked to start up a Gymnastic Club.
Terry and his wife Ursula “The HENDERSONS” started a club in Grindrod & Sicamous and contracted to do a gymnastic program in all the elementary schools in the Salmon Arm school district. They continued teaching for 30 years.
Terry’s favourite saying when he met any former students was to tell them to make sure they “kept their toes pointed ».
Terry loved fly fishing and spent many years packing his Sportspal canoe through the bush and spending hours fishing his special lakes.
Terry was pre-deceased by his father John, mother Josephine and sister Leslie (Martin). He is survived by brother Wayne, sisters Dale (Jules), Jill (McMillan) and many nieces and nephews.
