Obituary
After a short battle with cancer Sylvia Christensen made her journey up to heaven in the late afternoon of August 30, 2022, at the age of 71 years. She is predeceased by her father, John and mother, Katherine (Kay).
She is survived by her loving husband, Carl; son, Jason and daughter, Krysta.
Sylvia was born on June 9, 1951, in Vancouver, BC where she lived most of her life. She was born and raised in the West End, then moved to Fairview until graduating from Eric Hamber secondary school. In 1972 she married her husband Carl and they celebrated 50 years of marriage in 2022. Sylvia and her family moved to Richmond where she has fond memories of returning to the workforce at the Richmond Inn. After retirement, Sylvia moved to Penticton, BC with her husband where she was blessed to have met many great friends with whom she shared many fun times. Sylvia also loved to travel. She always looked forward to Maui and Palm Springs, her favourite destinations. Despite a lifelong battle with muscular dystrophy, she fulfilled her dream of visiting Estonia to see her father’s birthplace.
The family would like to thank Dr. Tatham for being so kind and supportive to our beautiful mother/wife as well as Moog Hospice House who lovingly cared for her in her last days.
