Shawn (Chopper) Walsh
June 21, 1962 – January 22, 2022
As the sun was rising over Calvert on Saturday, January 22nd and on the 5th Anniversary of his sister Sheila’s passing, Shawn passed the bounds of earth, leaving his pain and suffering behind him – in his own home and on his own terms!
Shawn or Chopper as he was so affectionately known, made friends with everyone and was always ready, willing and able to lend a helping hand in any way he could – he would literally give away all he had to help others.
Predeceased by his parents, Kevin(1988), Genevieve(2015), Siblings… Sheila(2017), Ronnie (2011)
Left to mourn with grateful but broken hearts…his partner and caregiver, Janet Hann and her children David(Jenny)Dawson, Debbie Dawson, his furry friend, Misty. His son, Braedon Grace who he loved with all his heart!…Siblings, Kevin(Dianne) Calvert, Paul, Francis, Ambrose(Roma) Jill(Doug) Alberta, Gerard(Alvina) Calvert, Bev(Brian) Australia, Sheri(Perry) St. John’s, Rodney(Sherry) Witless Bay
Nieces/Nephews… Trevor, Steven, Scott, Shane, Stacey, Jeremy, Kyle, Cody, Amber, Aston, Emily, Cheryl Courtney, Jeffrey, Stephanie, Jessica, Kailey, Matthew, Melissa, Bradley, Samantha, Alex and their families. Aunts/Uncles…Marie, Betty(Phonse), Carmel, Betty, Reg(Margie) and a long list of cousins–
Chopper also leaves behind a large circle of friends who always stood by his side until the end and he loved them all–too many to write here, but you all know who you are!

simply amazing and Chopper would never have been able to spend his last days at home without your unconditional gentleness and your unwavering support!
His doctors, Drs. Rod McCarthy, Heneghan, Holmes, Daulton, Siddiqui and staff of Cancer Care Center. To everyone who visited or asked about Chopper, sent food and messages of support during his last days and after his passing. To Fr. Ken (cousin) who came to give him the Last Rites. To Fr. Gary(cousin) who sent the virtual messages and blessing that Chopper was able to hear and was able to give Fr. Gary a two thumbs up! To each and everyone who helped in any and every way to ensure Chopper’s comfort throughout his illness and passing, we owe you all a depth of gratitude!
At Chopper’s request, cremation has taken place.
Because of Covid restrictions, there will be no wake. Mass of Christian burial will be by invitation only and will be live streamed on Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m. in Calvert with Fr. Ken Walsh presiding.
Whenever we think of you Chopper, we will smile,because you were the best of us. As he would say himself—-God love you all!
One of Chopper’s biggest fears was that he would be forgotten but he will never be forgotten!
