Shauna Shaw (Colbourn)
January 8, 1976 – October 27, 2022
It is with a heavy heart that we inform you that Shauna Shaw has passed after a short battle with pancreatic cancer, surrounded by loved ones.
Shauna was a best friend/wife to Jim, loving mother to Jake Clarke, and step mom to Bailey (Junior)Gamble. Shauna will be missed by her Dad Tom (Sonia) Woolsey, sisters Bridie (Graham) Tindill, Sera (Ian) Clark. In-laws James (Jean) Shaw, Karen (Shawn) Knapp and her nieces and nephews (Kaitlyn, Riley, Matthew, Reed, Ella and Myra) She also leaves behind her loveable pup Chico! Shauna was predeceased by her mother Marnie Woolsey.
Shauna was un-afraid and strong during her final months. She was sure to have everything just ‘so’, right down to perfecting the final details of the legacy she leaves behind. Shauna had a way of making everyone around her feel her love. That same love will live on within us all.
Shauna had a huge heart, she was put on this earth to help. She has worked with many individuals through her role as an EA with the Kawartha Pine Ridge District School board. She went above and beyond to meet her students’ needs (including but not limited to being a bus monitor, home visits, and respite care).
If you are reading this, you likely knew Shauna – she will be impossible to forget. She loved to connect with others, she was loud, silly, and outgoing, and of course, processed a deep intuition to the needs of others. Not much got past her. She wasn’t afraid to speak her mind, stick up for herself and others as needed. She ensured that everyone had right and justified actions and was never afraid to use her powerful voice for the greatest good.
Shauna was a wife, mother, daughter, sister ,a dear friend, an excellent co-worker. Shauna was someone you could always count on. Shauna will be missed by many, but her legacy will live on through those who knew her.
As per Shauna’s request there will not be a funeral. (She chose to host her own celebration of life, where she got to say goodbye) Instead, spend the day with your loved ones, doing something you enjoy.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your local humane society and/or hospice.
