It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Santo Cerenzia in his 94th year, surrounded by love, on Saturday, November 26, 2022, at the Welland Hospital. Loving father of Sergio and Rob (Tammy). Dear nonno of Michael (Daiane), Stephen and Richard Benn, John, Ray, Dean and Ryka Cerenzia, and bis nonno of Mia, Macey, Giovanna and Jonathan. He will be missed by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his beloved wife Rosina and daughter Ivana Benn, parents Augustino and Angela, brothers Rocco (Ida), Salvatore (Lidia), Guido (Giuseppina), and his sisters Marietta Cerenzia, Fiorina Vommero (Vincenzo), and Lidia Aiello (Maurino). Retired from INCO after 30 years, Santo loved to be in his expansive garden or tending to his animals on his farm. An avid sports fan, when he wasn’t outside, he could be found watching soccer, hockey, or whatever sporting event was currently on. Santo’s family will receive family and friends at the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 179 Clarence Street, Port Colborne on Thursday, December 1, 2022 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Vigil Prayers will be recited at the funeral home Thursday evening at 6 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, December 2, 2022, at St. Therese of Lisieux Roman Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. with Father Janusz Roginski as celebrant. Entombment will follow at Glen Oaks Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Oakville. If so desired, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Cancer Society.
