It is with much love and great sadness the family of the late Sabina Smith of Fortune announces her passing. Sabina passed peacefully away at her home with her family by her side on Thursday, September 1st, 2022, at the age of 100.
Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of wonderful memories are her children, Mary Robere (Marcel) of Fortune, Leo Smith (Margaret) of Ontario and Bernard Smith (Shelia) of Fortune; son-in-law Harold Barnes of Fortune; eight grandchildren, Pauline Rockwell, Paulette Mullins, Harold Robere, Carla Barnes (Dave), Tracey Parsons (Wellman), Lisa Smith (Mark), Jennifer Smith (Steve) and Natasha Smith (Glen); eleven great grandchildren, Courtney O’Rielly (Josh), Sarah (Michael), Ashely Strang (Russell), Megan Mullins (Brandi), Tyrone Mullins (Shawna), Alexander Parsons, Gavin, Ryan, Kylie, Adam, Zoey Smith (Tyler); along with five great great grandchildren, Brooke, Abblyn, Colton, Alexa and Luca; plus a large circle of extended family and friends.
Sabina was predeceased by her husband, Leo Smith; daughter Almeada Barnes; grandsons-in-law Raymond Rockwell and Bill Mullins; her parents Thomas and Mary Hardiman, 3 sisters and 4 brothers.
The Smith family would like to express their sincere thanks to Sabina’s homecare workers Brenda Thornhill and Denise Barnes, to Dr. Beckley and Nurse Tracy Penney for their genuine kindness and compassion.
The Smith Family will be accepting visitors at Wiseman’s Funeral Home, Fortune on Saturday, September 3rd, 2022 from 11:00am to 5:00pm and from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. A Chapel Funeral Service will take place at Wiseman’s Funeral Home Fortune on Sunday, September 4th, 2022 at 4:00 pm with interment to follow at the Fortune Anglican Cemetery.
In Sabina’s memory donations may be made to The Fortune Anglican Church Cemetery Fund or flowers gratefully accepted.
