Obituary of Ruth Joan Adams
Ruth Joan Adams of Chatham passed away peacefully at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance – Sydenham Campus on Monday, April 18, 2022 at the age of 89. Ruth was the daughter of the late Ray & Forie (nee Hoyles) Grant. Ruth is predeceased by her beloved husband, Robert (Bob), her daughter Catherine Adams & her son, Robert (Rob) Adams.
Ruth is survived by her brother-in-law, Ronald Adams, sister-in-law, Margaret Adams, niece Heather Adams, nephew Jim Adams (Carol), and great-nieces Julie Adams (Jun An) and Jaclyn Adams. As well as special friends, Serge Lussier and Neil, Peggy, Riley, Pierce and Hunter Johnson.
Ruth is predeceased by her brother, Jack Grant, brother-in-law, Neale Adams and sister-in-law, Evelyn Shackleton.
Ruth was a member of St. Andrew’s United Church where she enjoyed participating in various activities, a member of the Red Hat Society and she loved playing cards with her friends. Most recently, she lived at the Oaks Retirement Village in Wallaceburg where she enjoyed participating in various activities.
The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff of the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Wallaceburg and to the staff of the Oaks Retirement Village for their excellent care.
At Ruth’s request, a Private Family Funeral Service was held on Friday, April 22, 2022 with Pastor Greg Simpson officiating. Interment followed in Maple Leaf Cemetery.
Memorial Donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or to the Canadian Cancer Society.
