It is with profound sadness that we announce Ruth Jepson our mother and friend passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, February 21, 2022 at the age of 88 years. To many Ruth was a symbol of compassion and love, delivered with artistic flair which she endeavored to maintain as her legacy, by adorning the many buildings and walls throughout the county with her iconic murals and portraits. She loved her “hobbit home” on the main entrance of town and thankfully lived in it to the last days of her life. Born in Didsbury, England and passed away in Didsbury, Alberta, Ruth was affectionately known as the “Duchess of Didsbury” and lived her life with grace and elegance to the end. Ruth is survived by her partner Derek Page; children Nancy, David, Christopher, Helen, Jim and Steven; a multitude of grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son Michael and Harold the father of her children and good friend. A memorial service will be held Thursday, March 3, 2022 at the Zion Evangelical Missionary Church, Didsbury at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made directly to Mountain View Arts Society.
