It is with great sadness to announce the sudden passing of Russell John Reynolds on Sep 28, 2022 at the age of 43.
Russ was born in Edmonton, AB on September 21, 1979 and grew up in Sherwood Park, AB. He was the middle child of three siblings and made many friends in school and through sports like soccer, baseball, volleyball, and skateboarding.
Russ had an interest in travelling. As a crab fisherman at the young age of 15 in Prince Rupert, BC, he enjoyed the sighting of orca whales and the beauty of the Pacific Coast of Canada. When he married his wife Ruth in August 2012, they were able to enjoy the beauty of the Pacific Coast in the US, travelling from Seattle to San Francisco. Russ also experienced contrasting landscapes and close encounters with polar bears in northern Canadian communities like Chesterfield Inlet, Inuvik, Deline, and Gjoa Haven during his career as a welder and shipper receiver.
Russ was well known for his gift of making an ordinary incident, into the funniest and greatest story you’ve ever heard. He had a way to make people feel welcomed and special. When not surrounded by an audience of friends and strangers, Russ enjoyed building Lego structures with his children, playing on his drums, and quiet time at home with his family. He will be dearly missed.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Ruth and their two children Maya and Merek, his mother Iris, siblings Lee (Nikita) and Rhonda (Wyatt), sister in law Ada (Travis), brother in law Matthew (Brittney), his baba Alice, his nieces, nephews, and many relatives.
A celebration of life will be held at Fulton Place Community League in Edmonton, AB on Thursday October 13, 2022 from 3pm-6pm.
