ENSLOW, Russell Irvin “Bus”- 87 of West Green Harbour passed away peacefully at his home on October 7, 2022. He was born October 28, 1934, in West Green Harbour to the late Russell and Hester (Buchannan) Enslow. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Inez, his brothers Arthur “Bub” Enslow, Norman Enslow, Melvin Enslow, and sisters Beatrice “Sis” Mackenzie, Mildred MacIntosh, Vivian Ringer, and Sylvia Wagner.
Known as Bus, Dad, Uncle Bus, Grampy Bus, Grampy school Bus, Grendad; Russell will be forever loved and remembered by siblings; Margaret, Lionel (Mary), Rose (Robert), Geneva (Mike) and Lorna, and his children Debbie (Weldon ), Gary (Laurie), Jamie, Terry, David (Angela), Rhoda, his eleven grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren.
Russell worked from the age of 13 until 80 years old. He spent his hard-working life at National Sea cutting fish, maintenance and retired as a chief engineer, and finished his working life as a lobster fisherman. Russell’s passion during his life, involved anything outdoors as shown by his career as a lobster fisherman and his joy of hunting. He loved the ocean and lobster fishing for all those years, first with his oldest brother “Bub” and then with his son Jamie by his side.
Russell overcame many ups and downs and carried his family through them all. A strong man with a huge heart. Russell kept in touch with his siblings regularly, through long phone calls, chats outside the house and many a kitchen table yarn. Russell was known as the Mr. Fix It, if it was broken, he could fix it, “don’t ever throw anything away you might need it”. A life lesson to us all.
Russell married the love of his life Inez on June 6, 1958. Married for 60 years, they were the king and queen of our family. They raised their six children at their home in West Green Harbour. Many memories, laughs and stories were created and shared in their home. Russell loved to spend his time travelling with his family whether it be long trips to Ontario, Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland or simply Sunday drives with the kids in the back singing, his wife by his side and a cooler full of Bologna and orange pop. Camping at Keji with his siblings, friends, his children and grandchildren were very special to Russell. Our family will forever have the memories created with Russell and the love shared through he and Inez to cherish and serve as a reminder that he was loved and gave his love to all of us to pass on.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Shelburne. A visitation will be held Wednesday October 12th 7-9 pm from Huskilson’s Funeral Home, 58 Bulkley Street, Shelburne. The funeral service will take place Thursday, October 13th, at 1:00 pm from the Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Shelburne. Interment will follow at West Green Harbour Cemetery.
