Obituary
It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Russell Donald Stewart which occurred unexpectedly at his home in French Village on Saturday, January 15th, 2022. Born 1937, in Minto, NB, he was the son of the late Peter and Amy Stewart. Russell was a Licensed Salvage Dealer with Stewart Trucking & Salvage and he was still working at the age of 85.
Russell is survived by his daughters Bernice Stewart of Ottawa, ON and Karen Bedford of Saint John; step-children Darlene Despres (Ron), Stephen Bedford (Michelle), Gary Bedford (Andrea), Shawn Bedford (Krista) all of Saint John; sister Eunice Bailey (Harold) of Chipman, NB; grandchildren Jamie, Angela, Ashley, Courtney, Timmy, Cory, Christopher, Curtis and Kyle; many great grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews and friends. Along with his parents, Russell was predeceased by his step-son Fred, sisters Dorothy, Stella and Annie and brothers Ralph, Peter, Joseph, George, Roy and John.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424). Due to the ongoing pandemic, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A private family interment will take place in Minto, NB at a later date. Donations in memory of Russell may be made to the I.W.K Children’s Hospital or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
