Obituary of Roseanna Millicent Kinden
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Roseanna Millicent Kinden announce her passing at St Claire’s Hospital in St John’s on Christmas Day, one month before her 96th birthday (birthdate: January 27, 1927).
Rose (née Sheppard) Kinden of Point Leamington, was born and raised on the Indian Islands. It was there that she met and married the love of her life , Mark Kinden and they spent many years loving life together before his passing in 2001.
She loved to quilt, knit, and berry pick.
If you were gifted with one of her creations, you were certainly blessed. She was also an avid reader.
She loved her Lord and was a faithful member and musician at Point Leamington Pentecostal Assembly for more than 60 years. If you saw and heard her play there, you likely thought that she was going to tear that acoordion clean apart!
She also loved to talk and did so without hesitation or lack of volume to whoever came through her door or answered her phone call. If you dropped by – even without invitation, you were welcomed and fed, both your body and your spirit.
She was predeceased by her dear husband, Mark, her parents Kenneth and Sylvia Sheppard, step-brother John (Violet) Hoddinott, and sisters Mary (Wilson) Sheppard, Myrtle (Ralph) Kinden, Dorothy Goulding-Fifield (Frank and Baxter).
Left to mourn her passing and to celebrate her wonderful life is her only daughter and caregiver Sharon; her special niece Marilyn and family (Ivan, Angie, Crystal), her sisters Ruby Sheppard and Piney Small. Also left to mourn is a large circle of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Visitation will take place from Hoskins Funeral Home, Botwood, on Friday, January 30, from 10am to 12 Noon. The funeral service will be for family only.
Burial to follow the service at the Pentecostal Cemetery in Point Leamington
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Hoskins Funeral Home, Botwood.
