Rosario (Reno) Ciantar
It is with saddened hearts the family of Reno Ciantar announces his passing on December 27, 2022 at the age of 90. Loving husband to the late Mary Ciantar (2020). Dear father of 4 sons Philip (Erminia), Paul (Jeremy), Patrick (Deborah) and Reno Jr. (Agata), and his 6 grandchildren, Sarah (Corey), David, Christina (Turner), Stephanie, Xero and Paisley, and 2 great grandchildren, Max and Scarlett.
Reno was a loving, caring and giving person devoted to his family and to his community. He was very passionate in supporting his church, hospitals, Police Services, EMS and any other causes when asked upon. He was a long time and active member of the Knights of Columbus and the Royal Canadian Legion.
Reno initially started his career in his homeland of Malta as a British Military Policeman, serving his country and the Commonwealth. He immigrated to Canada to become a respected automobile professional in all facets of the business and was passionate about soccer, cars, music, dancing, community support and his family.
Reno was very proud recipient of the “Order of St. Johns” in honour of his community contributions.
A private funeral service will be held at Davidson Funeral Home in Port Colborne with Father Peter Walton officiating. Rite of Committal will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Welland. Memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to the DAVIDSON FUNERAL HOME, 135 Clarence Street, Port Colborne.
