Ronald’s Obituary
CROWELL, Ronald Henry – 86, of Wood’s Harbour, passed away peacefully on January 30, 2022 at Bayside Home, Barrington. He was born June 10, 1935, at Woods Harbour to the late Ashton “Pony” and Kathleen (Banks) Crowell. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Adele (Swim); children, Randy (Dolly Lee), Teddy (Christina), Lorrie (Victor); son-in-law, Ernest; grandchildren, Tristan (Janice), Brandon (Jennie), Rhonda (Christopher), Sherman (Shasha), Suzanne (Tyler), Katie (Jordan); 13 great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren and their families. Ronald was predeceased by daughter, Kathy; and extended family, Erma, Florence, Ackie, and Moyle. Ronald was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a fisherman all his life; swordfishing, handlining, and lobster. After his retirement he pursued a new hobby of gardening which he grew to love. He was known for growing giant pumpkins and won many ribbons and prizes over the years. He really enjoyed the great pumpkin cut off party. He enjoyed spending time at his cottage in Welshtown and going for drives looking for deer. His six grandchildren were his pride and joy, he loved attending their sports events and making hunting trips with them to the camp in Ryer Lake. He was also a dedicated Toronto Blue Jays fan. The family would like to take this time to give a special thanks to the staff at Bayside Home for their care over the years. There will be no visitation by request. There will be a funeral service held on Wednesday, February 2, at 2 p.m. at the H. M. Huskilson’s Memorial Chapel, Barrington, with Pastor Wayne Crowell officiating. In keeping with provincial Covid guidelines, attendance/seating will be limited to a maximum of 50 people (proof of double-vaccination required), with priority being given to the family. The wearing of masks and social distancing guidelines must be observed. There will be a livestream of this service from the Huskilson’s website for those unable to attend. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Woods Harbour. It has been requested there be family flowers only.
