Ronald David Forshner, age 81, went to be with His Lord December 15, 2021.
Ron was born in Kelowna, January 7, 1940, to parents David and Lydia Forshner, and raised with younger sister Barb. He grew up knowing the value of hard work and loving everything with an engine.
Ron married Sharon, in Vancouver, June 1961. They loaded-up their ’57 Chevy and hauled a small travel trailer into the wild interior of BC to begin a career in mining/logging/road building. Never afraid of a challenge, he gained experience and built his own business in the rugged mountains along the BC coast. To relax, he read Louis L’Amour and studied the history of the region surrounding him. He was an employer known for patiently solving problems and set-backs, with encouraging instruction, such as, “You’d be surprised what you can do with a loaded logging truck.”
While being completely at ease living and working in the wilderness of British Columbia, Ron was also a valued member in every community he lived in, most recently Onoway, Alberta. He enjoyed sharing his faith which was of great importance to him. Family, friends and acquaintances appreciated his humour, kindness and generosity.
He’ll be greatly missed by his son Brad (Janet) Forshner, daughters Judy (Doug) Tabler and Lynnae (Jim) Redmann; grandchildren Kyle Forshner, Tyrel Redmann, Annette (Jordon) Vikse, Derek (Aimee) Redmann, Naomi (Phil) Mercer, Shelby Redmann, Kailey Redmann, Jared Forshner, and Bailey Tabler; and great-grandchildren Weston, Lakelyn and Shepherd Vikse.
Now you’ve been changed, in the twinkling of an eye
And we here stand, to say our good-bye
Your best we hold, memories to share
Your laugh, your smile, your hugs, your care
Knowing that one day we’ll connect again
Perfected in Christ and there will remain
Love you Dad, Papa, Friend….
Nos plus sincères sympathies à la famille et aux amis de Ronald David Forshner 2022..
