Richard’s Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear father, Richard Joseph Philippe Alexandre on April 1st, 2022.
Richard, the eighth child in a family of twelve of Joseph Alexandre and Marie-Jeanne Belanger, was born on July 31st, 1938, on the family farm eleven miles southwest of Falher.
Richard was married twice, first marriage in 1958 to Marlene Lindstrom together they had four sons. In 1984 Richard married Betty Fraser and together had one daughter.
His family knew him only as a kind, caring, humerous, and patient father, a man who’s love of life was first and foremost his family, then came farming, hunting and the game of curling.
Anyone who knew Richard knew that he was the most loving father a family could ask for. Richard was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Marie-Jeanne (Belanger) Alexandre; sisters and brothers-in-law Thérèse (Elmer) Golem, Marguerite (Andre) Bremont; brother and sister-in-law Eugene (Cecile) Alexandre; sisters Solange and Susan; brothers Robert, Edgar and Raymond, brother-in-law Armand Gervais; daughter-in-law Vicki McDonagh (common law husband Bruce); and first wife Marlene Lindstrom.
Leaving to mourn are Richard’s wife Betty (née Fraser); brothers Dennis and Rene; sister Pauline Gervais; the families of his children:
– Dewaine (Dale) Alexandre: step sons Matt (Karissa) Vincent, Mike (Ashley) Vincent, Mitch (Kassandra) Vincent, and, seven step great-grandchildren
-Todd (Lisa) Alexandre: children Terrance, Tasha, (Clint) Travis (Stacey); grandchildren Tommy, Ty, Torrie, Jace, Everleigh, Emersyn & Elliana, great-grandchild, Oakley
-Bruce Alexandre: stepchildren Erin (Christopher) Helmer, Dan Hoggarth and four step great-grandchildren
-David (Lisa) Alexandre: children Dallas (Jolene) Alexandre and Nicole Alexandre and four great-grandchildren Jade, Hailey, Charlie and Chloe.
-Jennifer (Bruce) Frederickson: sons Smith and Philip;
Along with numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial will be held on Saturday, July 23, 2022 @ 2 p.m. from the Group Area at Winagami Lake (Alberta).
