Rev. Austin Jagoe of Blackville, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, December 27, 2022, after a courageous battle with cancer, with his loving wife Edie by his side.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his four children: Mark (Jeanine) Jagoe, Judith Jagoe, Patty (Doug) Jagoe and Leegay Jagoe, all of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, and, two step-children: Jordan Coughlan of Fredericton and Kennedy Coughlan of Blackville. It was a great blessing that all of his children from Saskatchewan were able to visit him recently.
Austin had five grandchildren, Trey, Lise, Keenan, Donald and Mia and three great-granddaughters, Emily, Natalie and Willa and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
He is also survived and will be very much missed by his sister Jill (Pat) McLauglin of Bathurst.
A special thank you to everyone who gave him such great care, especially the many extramural nurses who cared for him at home and the Doctors and staff of the Oncology departments in Moncton and Miramichi.
Austin spent a long career as a Minister with the United Church of Canada. He received his degree in Theology from Mount Allison University and then moved to Saskatchewan where he served United Church congregations in the communities of Loon Lake, Macklin, Tompkins, Liberty, Craik, Outlook, Saskatoon and Naicam. He then served the United Church congregation of New Richmond, Quebec before moving to Prince Edward Island, serving congregations in Hunter River and Cornwall.
Following his retirement, he worked with United Church congregations in the New Brunswick communities of Nash Creek, New Mills, Dalhousie, Tetegouche and Bathurst. He also served as interim minister for the Blackville Pastoral Charge.
Austin was very much involved in all of the communities he lived in, especially being involved in minor hockey as a player in his younger days and later as coach and he touched everyone with his leadership, compassion and friendship.
There will be no visitation. A funeral service will take place at First United Church in Bathurst at a date and time to be determined.
Donations can be made in his name to the Oncology department at the Miramichi Hospital.
