Reo Paul Joubert

JOUBERT, Reo Paul, age 76 of Clearwater BC passed away surrounded by his loved ones on Thursday, July 21, 2022.
Reo attended school in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan and finalized his high school education in Mackenzie BC. He excelled at the trades and completed his Steamfitting and Pipefitting certificates in 1988 at BCIT. In his early years in Mackenzie, Reo coached tee-ball and softball while he was employed at the pulp mill. He was a dedicated employee at the pulp mill for over 30 years and made many lifelong friends.
Reo was a jack of all trades at work and at home. He hemmed his pants and fixed zippers with his sewing machine, gave haircuts to his family members and his dogs! Reo was a member of the oldtimers hockey club in Mackenzie and played for the local team (the Hamburgers).
Reo perpetually enjoyed all things outside, he took great pride in his lawn and loved gardening. His family always looked forward to the tasty tomatoes and cucumbers he grew in his greenhouse. Since Mackenzie was a brand new town, his yard was barren before he arrived and he covered the entire property with beautiful trees that stand to this day.
Reo loved to get out into the unspoiled Northern wilderness and hunt moose (and thanks to him, the family enjoyed a lot of moose meat). Reo retired from the pulp mill in 2005 and moved to Clearwater BC, but returned back to the north to hunt, as he had almost every year he lived in Mackenzie.
He kept busy in Clearwater, gardening, building many structures on his property and volunteering at the food bank. Reo’s passion for gardening came with him to Clearwater and he had an entire garden dedicated to pumpkins. He and Sherry would host an annual pumpkin party each October and everyone would take a pumpkin home for Halloween.
He was a member of the Lions Club as well as a Legion member. He served hotdogs at bingo and helped set up the weekly crib tournament in which he also partook. He always kept busy with his work and hobbies but always found time to help out the people of his community with his vast repertoire of skills.
Reo is survived by his wife Sherry Joubert of Clearwater BC, his children Tara Joubert, Tracy Joubert and Kevin Joubert, his grandchildren Jessika Brousseau, Jay Pageau, Jena Besignano, Joey Besignano, Cole Besignano and Maggie Joubert, his great grandchildren Zyanna Potvin and Theo Alexander.
There will be a celebration of his life on September 3, 2022 in Clearwater BC at the Legion.
Rest in Peace Dad.
