Ralph Joseph William Porter
December 4, 1943 – July 2, 2022
Ralph (Poppa, Crazy Poppa) passed away July 2nd at Royal Inland Hospital after a short battle with heart disease. Ralph was predeceased by his mother (Gladys), Father (Reginald), brothers (Richard, Ross and Ronald) and Sister (Ellen).
Ralph leaves behind the love of his life Judy with whom he was faithfully married for 57 years. Ralph was EXTREMELY proud of all his family and will be greatly missed by his daughters Darlene Prodeahl (Gerry) and Tracy Bailey (Paul), grandchildren Jennifer (Travis), Brandon (Serenna), Ryley (Madison), Bekki (Sebastian) and Great Grandchildren Aurora, Hennessy, Solara, Cole, Selene and Grace.
Born and raised in Montreal QC Ralph met and married Judith Sweetman in 1964. In 1976 they packed up their two daughters – and 32 boxes of their worldly possessions and headed West to British Columbia to make a life for themselves. Ralph worked many odd jobs and eventually found steady employment at ECCO Supply in Langley BC. They purchased their family home in Aldergrove BC and raised their daughters surrounded by many friends that they now call family.
In his younger years Ralph worked hard and enjoyed Golfing and Cooking. Later Ralph greatly enjoyed the many years they spent going on camping/travelling adventures in the US and Canada with both friends and family. Ralph retired from ECCO in 2005 sold their home in Aldergrove and moved to Logan Lake. Both Ralph and Judy quickly took to the community taking advantage of the many things that Logan Lake had to offer. Ralph also enjoyed building toy planes, cars and trucks in his woodshop to take to the Logan Lake Craft Fairs for the children.
All who knew Ralph will miss his generous, caring, silly and loving ways.
