Paul Victor Hamilton
1940-2022
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Paul Hamilton on
November 14, 2022 at the URVH who went home to be with his Lord and
Savior. Paul was born on December 27, 1940, in Woodstock, NB to the
late Ralph and Mary (Smith) Hamilton.
Paul was a loving husband to Linda (Stockford) and cherished father to
Benjamin (Lisa) Waugh, Andrew (Stephanie) Waugh and Gary (Mandy)
Hamilton. Paul loved his four grandchildren: Colby Waugh, Sadie
Waugh and Isabel Waugh and Wesley Hamilton. Paul will be missed by
his nieces; Joan Way, Joyce (Duane) MacDonald, Lorna (Kim) Folsom,
Tracy (Chris) Patterson and nephews Larry (Beth) Grant and Christopher
(Tammy) Stockford, as well as many more cherished nieces, nephews and
cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one sister Marie
Grant and an infant brother, Ray Hamilton. Paul was predeceased by
three brothers-in-law Dan Grant, Hazen Stockford and Wesley
Stockford.
Paul had a successful business and was the owner of Hamilton Lumbering
Ltd. He was a woods contractor with Valley Forest for several years
and had a successful gravel, excavation and backhoe business for his
cottage customers who became like family. Paul was a dynamic man who
loved to work and had a great work ethic. He lived his life to the
fullest and will be missed by his family, many friends and his loyal
lake customers.
In his earlier years, he farmed and one of his prize possessions were
his horses. He loved raising colts, training them and putting them in
Canada Day parades.
Paul will always be remembered as a dedicated family man who put
others first and as Linda would remark “he was a great dad that
he didn’t have to be to Benjie and Andrew.” His saying
when he was unable to work and drive his gravel truck was “this
will be my last ride.”
Visitation will be held at Flewelling Funeral Home, 585 Otis Drive,
Nackawic, NB from 4 to 9 on Thursday, November 17 and funeral services
will be held at 2 pm from Flewelling Funeral Chapel on Friday,
November 18, 2022 with Pastor Dale Greer officiating, assisted by
Pastor Mel Norton. Interment will be in the Canterbury Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Dusty Buckingham, Billy Jinson, Charlie Shannon,
Steve Crandlemere, Andrew MacDonald and Francis Morissette.
For those who wish to make a donation in memory of Paul, the family
has suggested the Canterbury Cemetery.
