Patrick’s Obituary
LEWIS, Patrick John – Our world has forever changed and our hearts broken as we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather Patrick John Lewis, aged 76, of Conception Harbour. On October 22nd in the presence of his family, God called his angel home as Pat passed peacefully away at the Health Science Centre following a courageous battle with cancer.
Celebrating his life and cherishing the many wonderful memories they will forever hold in their hearts are his best friend and soul mate Doreen Lewis (nee White) of 47 years, his children and their families, daughter Patti Ann and Robin Green, daughter Coralie and Ibrahim Ciftci, and son Darrell Lewis and Ellen Dalton. Pat’s greatest source of joy were his three grandchildren who have many wonderful memories of their Poppy Lewis – Robert Green, Sara Ciftci and Patrick Dalton Lewis.
Sharing in the celebration of Pat’s life are his sister Genevieve and Bill Smith, brothers: Edward Lewis, and Stephen and Marion Lewis, sisters-in-law: Marilyn White, Irene and Gerald Murray, Rhonda and Cecil Ledwell, and brother-in-law Douglas (Bonnie) White, as well as many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Pat was a man of strong faith and prayed daily to God for all the blessings he had in his life. Welcoming him into heaven with open arms are his parents: Patrick and Rita Lewis, parents-in-law: Lawrence and Catherine White, brothers: Bobby, Gerard and Michael Lewis, sisters-in-law: Margaret Lewis and Donna Lewis, and special aunt Mary White.
Pat was a proud husband and father who defined himself by his family and his strong work ethic which he instilled in all of his children. Growing up, he learned his trade early by following in his father’s footsteps as both Fisherman and an Ironworker with Local 764. Pat was in his element fishing on his boat the «Royal Navigator» with his best friend and son Darrell. Since retirement, he continued his craft by making nets and pots in his fishing loft and being part of an industry that he loved so much.
We would like to extend a special thank you to the doctors and nursing staff of 5 South B of the Health Science Centre and his family physician and friend of 46 years, Dr. Paul Walsh, who supported him through his illness.
Resting at Flaherty’s Memorial Funeral Home, 70 Conception Bay Highway, Conception Harbour, with visitation on Tuesday, October 25th, from 12:00PM to 9:00PM, and Wednesday, October 26th, from 10:00AM to 9:00PM.
Funeral Mass will take place at St. Anne’s Roman Catholic Church, Conception Harbour, on Thursday, October 27th, 2022, at 11:00AM.
