It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our son, Owen Alexander Brown, on Thursday, July 28th, 2022 at SickKids Hospital in Toronto, surrounded by his loving family. Owen was born December 22, 2007 with a rare genetic condition called Snyder Robinson Syndrome. Throughout the years, Owen received tremendous care from Dr. Bruni and Thunder Bay Paediatrics, SickKids Hospital in Toronto, George Jeffrey Children’s Centre, Wesway, Easter Seals, Bayshore and VON Community Nursing. Owen attended Thunder Bay Christian School from 2013-2016, and Algonquin Public Elementary School from 2017-2022. Owen was loved by all who knew him, especially his family. Owen will be greatly missed by his parents Tim and Sherri; siblings Abel, Paul (Chloe), Hope, and Leah; step grandparents Jack, Val, and Carole; auntie Lisa and cousins Cody and Alex; uncle Peter and cousins Paris and Kate; and many great-aunts, uncles and second cousins. Owen was predeceased by his grandparents Sheila, Harvey, Vince, and Isabel; uncle Chris and many other beloved family. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, August 14th at 3:00pm at Grassroots Church, 1250 Balmoral St.- via Tungsten to Lithium Dr or Jasper to Lithium Dr during road construction; follow the signs. In lieu of flowers please make a donation in Owen’s memory to the Snyder Robinson Foundation or George Jeffrey Children’s Centre. Arrangements have been entrusted to EVEREST FUNERAL CHAPEL, 299 Waverley Street at Algoma.
