Obituary of Norman William Campbell
Bill Campbell passed on Tuesday, September 13, 2022. Although we will miss his stories and jokes, he finally joins his adored wife, Barbara Campbell. Born January 2, 1933, in Saint John, he was the son of the late Percy (Pat) and Lena (Northrup) Campbell.
Bill was an only child and a scrapper who grew up in the South End. Having lived all over Saint John, he recalls his beloved maternal aunts naming Tin Can Beach. He palled around with his best friend and cousin, Clint MacGorman, often finding themselves in precarious situations, which made for good stories. He started his career at an early age with Globe Printing Company, becoming a Red Seal Pressman.
He met Barbara (Walsh) and they courted in the fifties. He would walk from the South End to the North End to take her out to shows and dances. They were married in June of 1954, and moved to Quispamsis, starting a family on the Old Hampton Road. Bill was a dedicated employee, an avid woodworker, and outdoorsman. He spent hours in his workshop tinkering away making furniture, or he could be seen in his driveway caring for his Dodge truck.
Bill is survived by his son, Mike Campbell (Mona); daughters: Karen Michels (Stephen), Brenda Koval, and Patti MacDonald (Andrew); grandchildren: Kate Campbell, Jessica Michels, Victoria Crilley, Amanda Campbell, Elaina Campbell, Amanda MacDonald, Sara Koval, and Joseph Koval, and nine great grandchildren.
Bill was well cared for by the staff at Kennebec Manor over the last year.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis (849-2119). Visitation will take place on Sunday, September 25, 2022, from 3 to 5pm and 6 to 8pm. On Monday, September 26, 2022, at 2pm, Bill and Barbara will be laid to rest, together forever, at Riverbank Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances can be made to P.R.O. Kids. Bill always believed children should have the opportunity to play. Please place online condolences and remembrances at www.KennebecasisFH.com.
