Norman Lorin « Norm, Stormin Norman »
MacKenzie – 75,
Tatamagouche, passed away Thursday, June 23, 2022, on his way home to
Tatamagouche. Born in Truro, he was a son of the late William
« Burt » and Theda (Carter) MacKenzie.
Norm spent most of his life in sales for various food brokers
and finally car sales at Stuart Pontiac. As he always said,
« I’m not much of a salesman but a hell of a good
traveller! » In his younger years, he spent many summers in
Marshville at his Aunt and Uncle’s cottage, thus starting
his love of Tatamagouche. He enjoyed tying flies, fishing and being
« The Kitchen » when hunting. Dancing, especially a
jive, gave him great joy until his foot issues started.
Always up for a laugh, you could find him telling a new joke
to everyone he met or around the campfire at Sand Point. As everyone
knows, he would never turn down a glass of red wine or a
Norm’s beer at Al’s. He loved going to Cuba, but
on his fifteenth trip his health failed him. Other special trips
included a River Cruise on the Rhine, North Carolina and Port Dover to
name a few. Norm was a member of 102 Wing-Air Force Association in
Truro as well as Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 26, Truro, but was a
frequent patron of Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 64,
Tatamagouche.
Norm is survived by his wife of 30 years, Norma (Hoeg);
children, Kerry Brown, Tatamagouche; Tracy (Cory) Myers, Westville;
Derek MacKenzie (Terri Watson), Dartmouth; Jennifer (Chris) Havers,
Ottawa; Michael MacDonald, Dartmouth; grandchildren, Nick, Jeremy,
