Obituary
Nellie passed into the loving arms of the Lord on July 2, 2022, at the age of 93 years. She was predeceased by husband John (2003), brothers John and Mike, sisters Helen, Mary, and Kay. Survived by brothers Bill and Peter, and sister Annie.
She was born in the village of Waschetyn, Ukraine. In 1929, Nellie’s parents immigrated to Canada, settling near Bonnyville, Alberta on a farm homestead. Nellie went to school in Iron River, Alberta, then high school for one year in Bonnyville. In 1947, she went to Kamloops, B.C. to look for work. She found a job at the Kamloops hospital as a kitchen aide. She worked there until October 1951, when she married John and moved to Revelstoke.
Nellie and John have two daughters, Janet (Bill – deceased 2020), and Karen (Tom), four grandchildren – Brett (Tiffiny), Cristy (Brad), Evie (Kevin) and Colin (Abbey) and eight great grandchildren.
Nellie resided in Revelstoke until 2015 when she moved to White Rock, B.C.
A Memorial Funeral Service will take place at the Revelstoke Baptist Church on Saturday, July 9th, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Jordan Eadie officiating. A family graveside interment took place at Mountain View Cemetery, Revelstoke.
