Nelida Maria Cheng (née Espino)
Nelida passed away on December 21st, 2022 in Toronto at the age of 92. She died peacefully and was surrounded by loved ones. She is survived by her three sons Augustine (Gus), Benedict (Ben), and Ephrem, daughters in-law Yasmin and Bonny and four grandchildren, Kiara, Jenna, Julia, and Elissa. She goes to join her husband of many years, Patrick, who passed in 2006.
Her concern for others led her to a career in nursing. She was a graduate of St. Paul de Chartre College, Philippines, a devout Catholic, but most importantly a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She very much doted on her four granddaughters. She will be missed greatly by all of us.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday December 28th at 12 noon EST at Ogden Funeral Homes – 4164 Sheppard Avenue East, Scarborough, Ontario. The Funeral Service will follow at 1:00pm in their Chapel. For those who cannot attend physically, the service will be web cast. Internment will be at Pine Hills Cemetery.
