Jordan,
Murray Vernon Age 96 of Port Hilford, Guysborough
County, passed away on Friday, September 23, 2022, in High-Crest
Sherbrooke Home for Special Care. He was a son of the late Arch and
Eva (Jordan) Jordan. Murray was born in the Sherbrooke Village
jailhouse which his parents ran for 22 years. In 1940, he moved with
his parents to Dartmouth. Murray started working at Trans Canada
Airlines in 1954 and then moved to Air Canada in 1960 and worked until
his retirement in 1986 after 33 years of service. Murray’s
heart was always in the Sherbrooke area. He loved to hunt and fish
with his loving wife, Margaret. Murray loved being surrounded by his
children and grandchildren. He is survived by his children, Wilfred
(Brenda), Deborah (Gary) Jordan, Warren (Donna), Vernon (Glenda);
Wendy (Bobby) Weagle, Tammie (Brian) Miller, Terri Rafuse, Archie,
Harley (Joanne), daughter-in-law, Wanda Jordan;
brother, Jackie Grey; stepchildren, David, Butch,
Buddy, Bonnie and Monica; 26 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren, 1
great great-grandson. Murray was predeceased by his first wife,
Margaret (Graves); second wife, Dorothy Heatherington; son, Bobby;
granddaughter, Reta; stepdaughter, Dianne; brothers, Percy, Victor and
Basil; sisters, Dorothy MacLeod and Jenny McGowan. In keeping with
Murray’s wishes, a family graveside service will be held
Saturday, October 29th at 12:30 pm in Sunset
Rest Cemetery, Indian Harbour Lake with Rev. Sue Channen officiating,
followed by a Celebration of Life gathering from 2-5 p.m. in Indian
Harbour Lake & Jordanville Community Centre. Memorial
donations may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
