Obituary
Passed away peacefully at Peterborough Regional Health Centre on Saturday, September 3rd, 2022 with family by her side. Miriam will be missed by her devoted husband of 68 years, William Hutchinson. Predeceased by her parents Alexander Hepburn and Mary Hepburn (nee Robson) as well as her brother Edwin. Miriam is forever cherished by her three sons Derrick, Gary (Brigitte) & Keith (Nancy). Loved by her two grandchildren Alex, Kathleen and step grandchildren Tammy (Joe), Ashley (Jason), John (Laura) & Chuck (Loraine). Remembered by her seven step great grandchildren Hailey, Tanner, Carley, Carley, Jasmine, Levi, Jackson, Zoe, Meredith & 3 step great great grandchildren Violet, Sophi & Arthur. Mourned by her brother Donald (Jean) and sister-in-law, Joan.
Miriam is remembered as the loving, kind and giving person she was. Miriam was described as “the glue” that held everyone together through joy and sadness. She had a way of making everyone feel welcomed and loved just by meeting her.
Together in marriage, Miriam and William did everything together. Miriam was an adventurous person. One of her and William’s favorite memories together was hitchhiking through Europe together after World War 2. William will forever cherish his memories with his long-time beloved wife. Miriam and William were active members of Gyros and Gyrettes in Peterborough Ontario.
Family and friends are invited to Highland Park Funeral Centre for a period of visitation from 11AM to 12PM on September 9th, 2022 followed by a Memorial Service at 12PM. Reception to follow.
