It is with broken hearts that the family of the late Mercedes F. Slaney of St. Lawrence announces her passing. Mercedes passed away at the U.S. Memorial Hospital in on Wednesday, October 26th, 2022, at the age of 93.
Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of wonderful memories are her sons, Cyril (Karen) of Manitoba and Leon (Jackie) of St. Lawrence; daughters, Theresa (Len) of Bloomfield, Celeste of St. John’s, Madonna (Richard) of Lord’s Cove, Robyn (Tommy) of St. Lawrence and Kerri (Roger) of St. Lawrence; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren; plus a large circle of extended family and friends.
Mercedes was predeceased by husband, Thomas; parents, Bernard and Ernestine; children, Raymond, Thomas and baby girl; Great-grandchildren, Quinton and Megan; brother Ted Stacey.
In keeping with Mercedes wishes, cremation has taken place.
Visitation will take place at St. Thomas Aquinas Parish, St. Lawrence with a date and time to be announced.
Funeral mass to take place at St. Thomas Aquinas Parish, St. Lawrence and inurnment to follow at Mount Cecilia Cemetery at a date and time to be announced.
In Mercedes’s memory donations may be made to the U.S. Memorial Hospital , no flowers by request of the family.
