Obituary of Megan Louise Daniels
Age 30, of Windsor Forks. It is with broken hearts we announce the passing of our beautiful daughter, Megan on Sunday, September 11, 2022 in the VG Site, QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of Wallace and Lisa (Cuvilier) Daniels.
Megan was one of the two bright lights in our family. She made friends wherever life took her and taught us all how to love each other regardless of the challenges which stood between us. Meggie loved life’s simple pleasures, the wind in her face while swinging on the verandah, drives in the car, bowling with friends or just hanging out holding hands with the favourite men in her life. We are going to miss Megs beautiful smile and infectious laugh!
To all of Meg’s friends, teachers, educational assistants and special educators who helped her over the years, thank-you for helping her spread her wings and take in so much of what life had offered her. We have met some incredible people through organizations such as APSEA, Early Intervention, SMILE, The Alexander Society, New Boundaries, Kaleidoscope and the Disability Support Program. A very special thank-you to Sara Woodward, Kim Zwicker and families who considered Meg one of their own. For Megan, you were caregivers, big sisters and most importantly her mother while she was in your care.
We would also like to acknowledge our collective families who loved and supported Meg over the years. We couldn’t have done it without you.
Besides her parents, Megan is survived by her grandfather, Elliott Daniels; sister, Hannah; many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Meg was predeceased by maternal grandparents, Douglas and Phyllis Cuvilier; paternal grandmother, Jean Daniels and uncle, Jeff Norman.
The family would like to extend a thank you for the exceptional care provided by the medical team at the Emergency Department in the Halifax Infirmary and the medical staff on 8.2. A special thank you to Dr. Laurie Mallery and Kim Hill, NP, from the PATH Team, your kindness went above and beyond. As well, special thanks to the palliative care doctors and nursing staff on 7A at the VG Site. Your compassion and care will never be forgotten. Thank you to nurses, Delaney and Thea, you are the best. To Megs family doctor, Dr. Cathryn Smith, thank you for the special care provided to Meg throughout her lifetime.
Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317), where a funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 17 (masks are encouraged). Private family burial will follow in Windsor Forks Community Cemetery, Windsor Forks. A reception will follow in the funeral home’s Elmcroft Reception Centre.
