Obituary of Mary Jacqueline Gray
Mary Jacqueline (Jackie) Gray
Mary Jacqueline (Jackie) Gray of North Bay made her transition from life peacefully on July 12, 2022. She was in her 90th year.
Jackie was born on September 25, 1932, to John Loudon (JL) and Edith Shaw (Webber) in North Bay, Ontario. After graduating from North Bay Collegiate Institute, she went on to become a teacher and worked at various schools within the province. She was extremely passionate with her kindergarten classes.
On December 18, 1954, she married John (Jack) Gray (deceased) of Hornepayne Ontario. Jackie and Jack went on to have one child, David presently a resident of North Bay. In the late 1960’s Jackie left teaching to help her husband establish and run a successful business venture called The Pop Shoppe in London Ontario.
Her retirement years were spent in Grand Cayman, BWI, and Clearwater Florida before moving back to the North Bay area.
Jackie loved to dance, learning to step dance in her “golden years” and winning several dance competitions in the senior’s category. Her smile on stage showed how much she enjoyed performing and keeping active.
Jackie was predeceased by her husband Jack Gray, sister-in-law Marge Laing and close friend Aileen Chirico. She is survived by her son David and grandsons Michael of St. Albert, Andrew of Vancouver, Michael and Andrews mother, Deborah DiGiuseppe of St. Albert, sister Sheila Carr of North Bay (along with family) and brother Gary Shaw of Florida (along with family), niece Wendy Ruth Laing Zgudziak and family, Andy Zgudziak (husband) and Kyle Zgudziak (son) all of Severn Bridge, niece Heather Laing and husband John Sanderson of Salt Spring Island.
As she was a very private person Jackie left specific instructions upon her death. Her family will abide by her wishes of cremation, no funeral visitation, and no service. A private burial will take place at a later date at the Terrance Lawn Cemetery in North Bay.
Jackie was an extremely kind and generous person and will live on in the hearts of her family friends and neighbours.
Thank-you goes out to the wonderfully caring staff and Eastholme Home for the Aged in Powassan for their continued care and support under all conditions.
The family request donations be made to your favourite charity.
