Died peacefully surrounded by her family on March 11, 2022 at the age of 75. Dear wife and soulmate of Ray for 52 years. Loving Mom to Carl (Manon Lagace-Merton), Teresa-Lee (Steve) Rycroft, Angela (Karl) Seitz, and Brenda Ann (late Richard) Vale. Proud Meme to Hunter (Emily Stringfellow) Vale, Joelle Merton, Colton Vale, Katarina Seitz, and Nickolas Seitz. Dear sister to Jane Ann (Alec) Douglas, Richard (Kathleen) Middleton. Dear sister-in-law to Harold (late Elizabeth) Merton. She will be missed by many nieces and nephews. Dearest friend of the Stchyrba family.
A Dame of the Knights Templar, she was also an active volunteer for multiple organizations including the Ronald McDonald House in Windsor and Heart and Stroke Foundation. A member of The Church of the Ascension, she enjoyed singing in the choir and being a member of the Altar Guild.
Mary Jo was a firm believer in unconditional love and that family is everything. She orchestrated family cruises, gatherings, birthdays and vacations. Mary Jo was a devoted Meme to her 5 grandchildren, only ever a phone call away. She always looked forward to the semi-annual “Scrapbooking Weekend” with her daughters, daughter-in-law, nieces Mary Susan and Kerry Ann and dear friend Barb.
