It is with broken hearts that the family of the late Mary Ellen «Nellie» Kelly of St. Lawrence announces her passing. Nellie passed away at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre in Burin on Saturday, December 3rd, 2022, at the age of 95.
Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of wonderful memories are her sons, Eymard Kelly (Thecla) of Edmonton, AB, Denis Kelly (Madeline) of Marystown, Thomas Kelly (Barbara) of St. Lawrence, John «Jack» Kelly (Jean) of St. Lawrence, and Roche Kelly (Linda) of Oshawa, ON; dauhgters, Madeline Power (Gordon) of St. John’s, Christina Keating (Harry) of Smiths Creek, NB, and Sarah Strang (Norbert) of Penobsquins, NB; granddaughter, Tara Kelly; nieces, Amy, Amanda, Carlyn, Farron, Shanna, Melissa, Robyn, Jacqueline, Jennelle, Jayme, Norah, Laura, Julie, Jenna, Priscilla, Sybil, Ann Marie, Myra, Margaret, Sylvia, Mary and Gloria; nephews, Barry Thomas, Grant, Grayson, Phil, Ernest, Bert, Pat, Joseph, John, Edmund, Denis and Brian; plus a large circle of other family and friends.
Nellie was predeceased by her husband, John Kelly; parents, Ernest & Priscilla Turpin; brothers, Bill Turpin, Michael Turpin, Louis Turpin and Pius Turpin; nephews, Christopher Kelly and Louie Turpin; and nieces, Ursula Hickey and Nadine Turpin.
The Kelly Family will be accepting visitors at St. Thomas Aquinas Roman Catholic Church, St. Lawrence on
Monday, December 5th
2:00 pm to 9:00 pm
Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Thomas Aquinas Roman Catholic Church, St. Lawrence on Tuesday, December 6th, 2022 at 2:00 pm. Interment to follow at Mount Cecilia R.C. Cemetery, St. Lawrence.
In Nellie’s memory in-lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Children’s Wish Foundation.
