Marjorie Elizabeth Smith
August 14, 1940-December 24, 2022
Age 82 of The Meadows, Yarmouth (formerly of Tooker Street), passed away on December 24, 2022 at the Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born on August 14, 1940 in Yarmouth, she was the daughter of the late Catherine Deveau.
Marjorie was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived by her children, Michael (Shelley), Yarmouth and Kathryn, New Minas; grandchildren, Jessica, Kaitlyne, Abigail, Dawson, Ezra and Elijah.
She was predeceased by her husband, John Thomas Smith; daughter, Lisa Ann; siblings, Margaret, Donald, Mary “Mimi”, Joey and Catherine “KayKay”.
Marjorie worked at Zellers and at the Vanguard for many years and her friendly personality was remembered by all who encountered her. She loved a get together and hosted many family gatherings over the years and showed us her impressive dance skills whenever given the chance. Her grandchildren were her number one source of joy and she was proud of each and every one.
Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Yarmouth. A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, December 29, 2022 in Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Yarmouth. A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, December 30, 2022 at Saint Ambrose Co-Cathedral, Yarmouth, Father Henry Smolenaars officiating.
