June 9, 1929 – November 12, 2022
It is with broken hearts that we say goodbye to our beloved mother who passed away peacefully at Juravinski Hospital with her loving family by her side. Born in Bell Island, Nfld. She is predeceased by her husband Roy Ellis Sr., her sons John and Gary, her grandson Jason and 9 of her 11 siblings. She leaves behind her children, Roy Jr. (Vicky), Marilyn Hutcheon (Jim), Keven (Wendy), Don (Ieva). Eleven grandchildren, Derek Calvin, Allison Vuckovich-Bell (Chris), Katrina, Annisa, Jonathan (Arleth) David, Adam, Katie (Gibran), Curtis, Liam Wilson and Ethan Stuart.
Thirteen great grandchildren and the newest addition to her legacy a great, great grandson. Marion is also survived by her younger sister Eileen Tichy and numerous nieces and nephews across Canada and the USA. Marion was a long time resident at Heritage Green. The family would like to thank Marion’s PSW, Lisa, volunteer, Wendy and the staff at Unit B3 for their care. Marion and her husband Roy were long serving Foster Parents for the Catholic Children’s Aid Society and received an award for their outstanding service. At one time they had 3 foster children as well as their own 5 children living in their tiny 5 room home. Later in life, she continued her caring ways by opening up her doors to numerous foreign students. Marion was an accomplished, self taught pianist who performed at Roy Thompson Hall, the CNE and the CN Tower. In her mid seventies she began to study the violin. The family was extremely proud of their mom’s accomplishments as a top saleswoman with Avon for many years, winning numerous prizes and reaching the Diamond Pin level. In her final moments Marion yearned for her family and friends to know, how deeply, she loved them ALL.
