Marion’s Obituary
Marion Lawrence, age 96, passed away peacefully at the Charles LeGrow LTC unit on December 25th, at 12:50am. Predeceased by her husband of 63 years (Benjamin), two sons (Theadore and Brian) one daughter (Myrtle) and son-in-law (Kitch). Left to mourn are three sons; Edward, Garland (Barb) and Leo (RoseEllen): 8 daughters; Sharon(Dave), Karen (Bob), Mary, Crena (George), Brenda (Bruce), Diane, Geraldine (Fred) and Alice (Bill); daughter-in-law Merrian and son-in-law Gilles; 34 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren and one sister Leona Lefrense.
Special thanks to Kevin and Phyllis whom she had a special love and friendship with and is considered family by all of us. Special thanks also to her two caregivers, Marilyn and Mallory, who took such great care of her over the past 5 years. Special thanks to Kathleen Huelin for being with me during my moms final hours. You were a blessing sent to me by my Lord to help me see her through to the end where she is now at peace in her Heavenly home.
Our moms Résumé consist of two jobs, 1- wife; 2- mother, and she was excellent at both of them and got to keep the second one until the Lord called her home. Her children couldn’t be more honoured to have been placed in her care for all these loving years. She loved to help support the church (and always had to wear a hat), Isle Aux Morts Seniors Club and the Community in general, so much so that when the play “Kootens” put on their three shows in the summer, she enjoyed attending them all, and took great pleasure in being called up on stage for a little dance at the end of the show. Thank you all for your kindness to her. Mom especially loved the Lord and when all she could do was read her little prayer book, she took great pleasure in reading it to anyone she could capture on the phone. Once they gave her permission to read, they had a hard time trying to get away. It was truly sad when the day came that this too was no longer possible.
Dear child, God does not say today, “Be strong”;
He knows your strength is spent; He knows how long
The road has been, how weary you have grown,
For he who walked the earthly roads alone,
Each bogging lowland, and each rugged hill,
Can understand, and so He says, “Be still,
And know that I am God. The hour is late,
And you must rest awhile, and you must wait
Until life’s empty reservoirs fill up
As slow rain feels an empty upturned cup.
Hold up your cup, dear child, for God to fill.
He only ask today that you be still.

The funeral will be held at Holy Spirit Anglican Church on Monday, December 27th at 2 pm officiated by Rev. Jane Allen. Interment to follow at Hillside Haven Cemetery.
