Obituary
Our beautiful Maggie passed away peacefully July 15, 2022, surrounded by loving family due to Alzheimer’s disease.
Maggie is survived by her husband Milt, brother Gary, sons; Darren (Sheila) and Sean (Sarah), grandchildren; Teisha, Daxon, and Hope. She is predeceased by her parents Fred and Pamela, and her brothers, Wayne, and Bill.
Maggie was born in Winnipeg and soon moved to Royston, B.C. She trained as a nurse in Vancouver and then moved to Victoria where she married Bill and began raising her boys. After leaving her marriage it was off to San Jose, California, Dawson Creek, B.C., Comox, B.C. and Sydney, Australia. Ever the “island girl” she permanently returned to Comox.
In 1993 Maggie and Milt met and married in 1998; retiring soon after. Maggie enjoyed travelling, her garden, Music Fest, antiques, and her dear friends; Laurie, Barb, Kathy, and sisters-in-law; Debb, Sharon and Valerie.
As an emergency room nurse Maggie shone. Her compassion, strength and skill reflected in the love of her career and those she helped.
Maggie received those same qualities from the wonderful staff at Glacier View Lodge. We are forever grateful for the care she had there.
A Celebration of Maggie’s Life will be announced at a future date.
Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations are welcomed to either Glacier View Lodge or the Alzheimer’s Society of B.C.
