It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mario Domenico
DiPietro at the age of 95, peacefully on August 23rd, 2022, surrounded by his loving family at Pioneer Manor.
Born in Villa Camera, Italy on August 15th, 1927. Mario grew up living next door to his only love, Cristina (predeceased 2020).
Mario came to Canada in 1951, and in 1952 Cristina joined him. They were married on June 14, 1952. Son of Antonio and Teresa DiPietro (both predeceased). Dedicated Father to Patricia (Doug), Anthony (predeceased 1997), Luciana, Mirella, and Robert (Tamara). Loving brother to Emidio (predeceased) and sisters Maria (predeceased), Dora (predeceased), Michelina (predeceased), Olga (predeceased) and Licia (Raymond predeceased). Brother-in-law to Egle (Gino predeceased), Novemia (Tito predeceased). Cherished Nonno to Melissa (Allen), Robert, Nicholas (Jennifer), Brendan (Kristen), Bradley (Meghan), Kiara, and Dylan (Caleigh). Adored Nonno to great grandchildren Graycee, Molly, and Baby DiPietro (January 2023).
Beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews in Canada and Italy.
Mario was an excellent craftsman, enjoyed gardening, woodworking, making homemade wine and loved spending time and having fun with his grandchildren. He was happiest when the family he loved was gathered around the supper table.
Visitation at the Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home, 233 Larch St., Sudbury on Friday, September 2, 2022 from 11am-1:00pm followed by the Funeral Service in the R. J. Barnard Chapel at 1pm.
