Marie (Sandy) Codner (June 24, 1942 – August 29, 2022)
With the heaviest of hearts we announce the passing of our dearest mother, and take comfort that she is happily reunited with dad, the love of her life.
Predeceased by her husband Joseph (Joey); her parents John & Margaret Murphy (nee Fleming); sister Maureen; as well as brother-in-law Roy (Maurica); sisters-in-law: Mary Codner and Margaret Spurrell; and special family friend Mary Nolan.
Left with many precious memories of her life to cherish, her children: Craig (Stephanie), Chris (Lisa), Tina (Bob), and Corey (Krista); and her grandchildren whom she adored: Alicia (Coady), Carissa, Ryan (Zoe), and Joshua.
Also lovingly remembered by her dearest friends, “the teabags”, her sister Barb (Ron Bradbury), sister-in-law Carol (Richard Codner), and neighbor Regina Lacey; as well as her in-laws: Bill Codner, Patrick Codner (Martha), Hubert Codner (Odell), Theresa Kline (Ralph) and Ray Spurrell, and a large circle of friends, neighbors, nieces and nephews in the Codner, Murphy and Thompson families.
Special thanks to Dr. Armstrong and Dr. Drodge at the Dr. H Bliss Murphy Cancer Centre, and the nurses and staff at the Health Sciences Centre for their compassion and care over these past months. Also a special thank you to Tose for her kindness and support given to mom at home.
Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, Torbay, on Thursday, September 1st, from 7-9pm and Friday, September 2nd, from 12-4pm and 7-9pm. Funeral mass to be held at Holy Trinity Church, Torbay, on Saturday, September 3rd at 11:00am.
Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in mom’s memory can be made to the Torbay Food Bank, where she had volunteered for many years.
