Born October 12, 1928 in Waltersdorf, Romania. Passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 27, 2022 at Winston Park Long Term Care Home at the age of 94. Beloved wife of the late Frank Bouda (2005).
Loving mother of John (Gerlinda), Henry (Karin), Frank and soninlaw Horst. Will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren David (Christina), Christopher (Sarah), Tom (Sally), Lukas (Nadine),
Eric (Rachelle), Richard and Aron (Lizzie) and her greatgrandchildren Evelyn, Jonathan, Andrew, Nicolas, Elise, Roscoe and Pearl. Predeceased by her parents Katharina and Theodor Nikiforeak, her
daughter Margaret and her brother Eugene.
She was a founding member of Martin Lutheran Church in Kitchener and continued to be dedicated
and loyal all her life. In her early years in Kitchener, she worked at Arrow shirts and then at Canadian Blower and Forge until she retired. She enjoyed celebrating her heritage at the Transylvania Club and participating in the choir.
The family would like to express our thanks to the staff at Winston Park Long Term Care Home (Newberry) for the wonderful care she received in the past months. It was a pleasure to get to know all her friends at Newberry.
Visitation will be held at Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street South, Waterloo on
Sunday, December 4, 2022, from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. An additional visitation will take place on Monday, December 5 from 10 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. with the funeral service to immediately follow in the chapel of the funeral home at 11 a.m. Reception in the Fireside Room at 12 noon until 1:30 p.m. Interment will follow for those who wish to accompany the family to Mount Hope Cemetery, Waterloo. A livestream and recording of the service will be posted on Maria’s tribute page at www.erbgood.com.
