Obituary
The children of Margaret Louisa Paskevich (Fulks) are saddened to announce the passing of their family matriarch, on March 13/2022, at the age of 87 years.
Margaret is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Donna (Wirun), of Edmonton AB, Margaret-Anne (McColeman) of Sorrento BC, sons Ernest Junior of Salmon Arm BC, Mark of Armstrong BC, and Ronald of Vernon BC.
Margaret was predeceased by her brother James Fulks (1965), mother Elizabeth Ada Howard (1985), grand-daughter Elizabeth Paskevich (1988), father Stanley Rupert Fulks (1990), stepmother Isobel Scott Fulks (1995), brother Neil Taylor Fulks (1998), son-In-Law James McColeman (2010), granddaughter Sheri Lee Wirun (2014) and husband Ernest Sr (2016).
Margaret and Ernie were married in 1953 and moved to the Lone Rock Saskatchewan area (near Lloydminster), followed by Edmonton Ab in 1955. With their 5 children, Margaret and Ernie began farming full time near Waskatenau AB in 1972. With her return to Waskatenau, Margaret was very pleased to be closer to her roots, the Fulks family and childhood friends.
Margaret started a successful hog operation under the guidance of her Dad Stanley Fulks. Her children also benefited from the love and tutelage of her dad, stepmother, and the Fulks family. Margaret and Ernie built a large and successful farming operation and saw their children grow to adulthood.
In 1988 they purchased a retirement acreage in Sorrento BC. After 25 years of happy acreage life, they moved to the gated community of Desert Cove near Vernon BC. Shortly after Ernie’s passing in 2016, Margaret moved to the retirement community of Heaton Place in Armstrong BC.
Margaret was very active in the church and was a member of the Catholic Woman’s League (CWL) for over 60 years. She also held the roles of CWL president in Radway, AB and Blind Bay BC (Sorrento). Margaret was very active with the 4H as well as the Canadian Morgan Horse Association. She bred a large stable of award winning (Merango) Morgan mares and stallions, distributed throughout North America and Europe. Gifted with her father’s animal husbandry, tenacity and work ethic, Margaret was successful as illustrated by her many accomplishments.
Margaret was the matriarch and glue of our family. With wisdom, gentleness and kindness, she lived for her children, grand children, great-grand-children and extended family who brought her endless joy. Her presence will be sadly missed by family, a large group of dear friends, and her church.
