Margaret’s Obituary
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Margaret Mary O’Reilly announces her passing at the Central Newfoundland Regional Hospital, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL aged 88 years.
Our Mom was an amazing mother and loving wife to our Dad for 64 years while they lived in their home that Dad built for her. She was a wonderful mother, nanny and great grand nanny to all her children and grandchildren. Mom had a large circle of friends and many special friends who have been friends since childhood.
Mom became a girl guide at the age of 12 and held many positions in the Guides organization right up to her last meeting with these special ladies in May. She was a long-time chartered and valued member of the Catholic Women’s League.
Mom loved chatting on the phone and volunteered with numerous organizations in her community. She enjoyed her Bridge Club and her Rumoli Club for many years. She looked forward to her many lunches at the Badger Diner and any chance to get together with friends and family.
Mom was always there to offer guidance with any issue, have a good laugh or tell a good story. We were very blessed to have her in our lives for so long and she will always be remembered for the beautiful, kind, gentle and generous woman she was.
We will miss her dearly.
Margaret leaves to mourn with many fond and loving memories her husband, James; children, Tony (Kathy), Maureen (Tom), Stephen (Holly), Sean (Vanessa); grandchildren, Dana (Mike), Steven (Bobbi-Jo), Darren (Mel), Brad (Alex), Luke (Camille), Cale (Rae), Shayne (Paula), Jordan (Tom); great-grandchildren, Tyler, Hannah, Dawson, Taylor, Aiden, Tanner, Clara, Lincoln, Mahalia, Sydney, Kiera; plus a large circle of nieces, nephews & many friends.
Margaret is predeceased by her parents, Phillip & Elsie Maloney; special grandson, Ronan; siblings, Rodie, Patricia, Betty, & Terry.
In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place.
Visitation will take place on Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at 7-9 pm for family & invited friends from Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, 10 Bayley Street, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL.
The funeral mass will take place Thursday, June 23, 2022 at 2 pm from the Cathedral of Immaculate Conception, 8A Church Road, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL.
The interment will follow at the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Union Street, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL.
As expressions of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Central Newfoundland Regional Hospital.
