Margaret’s Obituary
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we, the family of the late Margaret Lomond (nee Huelin) announce her peaceful passing, at the age of 88 years, on Sunday, August 7th, 2022 at her residence in Grand Bay West, NL with her loving husband by her side. Born in Isle aux Morts, NL, Margaret was the daughter of the late William and Alva Huelin (nee LeFrense). She was also predeceased by her father and mother-in-law; Isaac and Ester Lomond, sisters; Reta Sawyer and Maryanne Hatcher, brothers and sisters-in-law; John-Lewis, Sidney, George, Melinda, Fred, Edna, Harry and Evelyn.
She leaves to mourn with fond and precious memories her loving husband of 67 years; Robert (Bobby) Lomond, children; Leona (Wilfred) Pearce, Jody (Ben) Rose and Sidney (Karen) Lomond, grandchildren; Jamie (Victoria), Jonathan (Michelle), Justin, Ashley (Liam), Robert, Devin (Leah) and Chris, great-grandchildren; Ella, Isaac, Bianca and Kira.
Margaret also leaves behind her brothers; Lorne (Pauline) Huelin of Gabarus, NS and Jim (Sherry) Huelin of Hampton, NB, brothers and sisters-in-law; Rosanna Lomond, Elsie (Reg) Taylor, Gladys Seymour, Garf (Sandra) Lomond and Eneas (Linda) Lomond, plus a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
The family would like to send a special thank you to Margaret’s home care-workers who have provided exceptional care to her over the years.
Visitation will be taking place on Wednesday, August 10th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at East Haven Funeral Home Inc., 57 Grand Bay Road, Port aux Basques. The funeral service will take place on Thursday, August 11th at 2 pm from St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Grand Bay-Port aux Basques officiated by Rev. Faye Coffin. Interment to follow at St. Paul’s Anglican Cemetery, Barachois Hill, TCH. Flowers graciously accepted and donations in memory of Margaret can be made to the family; who will donate it to chosen charities at a later date.
