Obituary
Manuel William Palamar
Manuel leaves to mourn, his brothers; Mike (Elaine), and Melvin, Sisters; June, and Darlene
(James). He is predeceased by his mother Helen, father Bill, sisters Nadia and Diane, and
brother-in-law Henli. He will be dearly missed by his nieces, nephew, great nieces and nephews,
and many close friends.
He lived his earliest years on the family farm outside of Garland, MB. He attended Gonta School
until the family moved to Dauphin in 1964 and then attended local Dauphin schools. At a very
young age he started his working career at: CN, Painting/plastering, Tween Lakes (pumping gas
and driving tow truck), and West End Services.
He apprenticed at Westmore Upholstery Shop and being a quick study, he later bought the
business starting Westmore Upholstery in 1971. He was dedicated to his trade and became a
very knowledgeable upholsterer in the Dauphin and surrounding area. He was always fair with
his customers and respected by them. There was never anything that he would not tackle and
find a way to make it work even though it seemed impossible. He continued to operate his
business until his passing.
His friends always knew that ‘Manny’, as they called him, always had a standing invitation to
stop by for coffee at 10:00 am or 3:00 pm, and they all frequently took him up on that offer.
Manuel had a passion for hunting, fishing, and being outdoors. He spent many days camping in
the bush and hunting with his dad. When time allowed, he enjoyed going to his cabin,
quadding, car shows, and socializing with family and friends.
We will all miss him dearly. Until we meet again!
Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held Saturday, August 27, 2022 at Sneath-
Strilchuk Family Care Centre at 11:30 am with lunch to follow at Super 8 Banquet Room.
