Obituary for
Lydia Louise Pryor
It is with deep sorrow we announce the passing of Lydia Louise Pryor on Wednesday, September 21, 2022, at the age of 71 years. She was a loyal and loving wife, sister, aunt and friend. We will miss her greatly and cherish her memory forever in our hearts.
Lydia was born in Eckville, AB on August 26, 1951, to the late Ruth and Everton “Bob” Hopper. She was raised on the family farm in Leslieville, AB and attended the Leslieville and David Thompson schools.
Lydia moved to Edmonton in 1969. In 1971, she graduated with an award of excellence from the dental assisting program at NAIT. She continued to live in Edmonton and worked as a dental assistant for many years before taking a management position at a large dental clinic. She worked there until 1990. Lydia and her husband then operated some businesses of their own. She also worked for a chartered accountant until her retirement.
Shortly after moving to Edmonton, Lydia met her husband to be. They spent over 52 years together. They moved from Edmonton to Devon, AB in 2000 and more recently moved back to Edmonton in 2021.
Lydia and Ken loved trips back to the family farm, camping and travelling. They enjoyed several cruises as a part of their travels.
Lydia is survived by her husband, Ken Pryor; sisters, Wilma McKenzie and Duretta (Michael) Bradfield; stepdaughter, Melony (Alex) Frei; nieces, Leanne (Dave) Lorentzen, Karen (Kevin) Miller, Nicole (Jason) Yamniuk and Jocelyn (Nick) Frey; as well as several great-nieces, great-nephews and their families.
