LOUDOUN, David
April 14, 1942 — August 16, 2022
The family of David Archibald Loudoun is shocked and deeply saddened to announce his unexpected passing on August 16, 2022. He is lovingly survived by his 3 children, Will (Cheryle), Ron, and Andrea (Grant), and his 6 grandchildren, Haley, Casey, Blake, Sidney, Mitchell, and Davi.
Dave lived life to the fullest every day…..his entire life. He loved to golf with his friends, spend as much time as possible in Maui, cruise Okanagan Lake in his pontoon boat or take one of his classic cars to a car show. Not ironically, his final day was a round of golf at Michaelbrook Golf Club, then lunch with the golf gang, and then a final engine crank in his 1926 Ford Model T to take him home.
Many will know Dave from the 50 + years he spent in the mobile industry where he sold homes and built parks. He was a legend in that business where he was years ahead of conventional thinking regarding affordable housing. He was a great deal maker whether it be to buy a box of DQ Dilly bars or a piece of land for his next development – a deal was a deal.
Family was very important to Dave. He was the pillar of strength in our family and he was always there to offer us a guiding hand. His unwavering commitment to family and friends throughout his journey of life was relentless. He was always there for us…..unless he was in Maui, or Palm Springs, or Arizona, or on the golf course, or in the hot tub.
Dave had a magical way about him…..that may have led to him delegating several tasks over to you in a conversation…..and in some cases, you may not have even realized you now had 3 or 4 things to do for him. He was a master delegator.
We were all so fortunate to have had him in our lives and are grateful for all the memories. He will be loved, forever in our hearts, and dearly missed. Dave would insist that all of us not bear down in sadness but rather enjoy happy memories and a toast to his great life.
A private graveside service will be held for the family.
