Peacefully, on Monday, September 12, 2022, in his eighty-ninth year. Beloved husband of Bea for sixty-one years. Loving father and father-in-law of Pammy Wise, Roz and the late Henry Klumak, and Stephen Wise. Proud and cherished ‘Grampa’ of Nathaniel, Samantha and Matthew, Sabrina, Gillian and Matthew, Justin and Lauren, Cory, Brittany and Fred, Zackary, Hailey and Izzie, and Noah. Adoring great-grandfather of Gemma, Russell, Nina, Henry, and Mila. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Harold and Phyllis Wise, Rhoda and the late Ralph Wise; and brother-in-law of Evelyn and the late Ralph Silverstone, Harriet and the late Gerry Zaichick, and Donny Hoffer. Lionel will be deeply missed by his nieces, nephews, family, and all who knew him. Heartfelt gratitude to the entire staff of the Palliative Care Unit at the Jewish General Hospital, as well as to Lionel’s wonderful caregivers for their exceptional compassion. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Tuesday, September 13 at 1:00 p.m. Burial at the Knights of Pythias Section, Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Duvernay. Shiva at 5885 Marc Chagall Ave., C.S.L., from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. daily Tuesday to Thursday and from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
